Rachel and Denis got married in the heart of the White Mountains just as the leaves were beginning to change and the air was becoming crisp. They gathered the ones they love most in this world around them and celebrated the start of a new chapter in their lives together. In this beautiful place, the food was grown and cooked by the hands that served it, marshmallows were roasted, canoe expeditions took place, tree branches were used for decoration, and flowers were arranged in mason jars. These two have a love that runs deep.
This girl has a beautiful soul.
Her eyes dance with laughter and light and a quiet depth shimmers under the surface. A couple of hours before sunset, we wandered through fields and old farm stalls. She wore a vintage dress that she bought in England one summer and tried not to mind as the humidity twisted her hair into curls.
Audrey has only been in the world 2 months, but she is already smiling, making eye contact, and reflecting glimpses of the sweet, little soul inside. I loved the way she followed the camera with her deep, blue eyes, how she protested strongly against wearing a hat, and how her little face lit up with smiles when big-sister Emma woke up from her nap and came in to snuggle.
It is a gift to take photos on quiet afternoons like these when the incredible beauty of new life is so evident and love is communicated in the simplest of gestures. So now, meet Audrey, the newest addition to this lovely family.
